The camera is focused on eggs that have been laid in two cells and we will watch them grow and develop over a period of 21 days as they mature into female worker bees. The egg on the right is 1 day old and the egg on the left 2 days old. When laid by the queen, the egg is about 1.5 mm long and is attached vertically to the bottom of the cell.
Notice the more mature larvae in the cells to the left and above the cells we are watching.
