We have been follwing the progress of developing larvae (#1, #2, #3, #4, #5)
You are now looking at a new adult bee emerging from the cocoon stage. She has chewed her way through the wax capping to join her sisters in the hive. A bit wobbly on her feet now, she will begin her work in a few minutes. Her first duty will be to clean out the cell where she grew from an egg and to make it ready for the Queen to use again.
Take a look at what we found when we returned just 2 hours later.
